The School Board
The School Board formulates school policy within the framework established by the ACT Education Directorate.
The School Board consists of:
- three elected parents, one of whom is appointed School Board Chairperson
- two elected teachers from the school staff
- the school principal and
- a departmental nominee
The functions of the School Board are to:
- monitor and review school performance and to report on it to the Chief Executive, parents of students at the school and staff
- develop, maintain and review curriculum
- develop and review education policies
- establish budgetary policies for the school and approve the school budget
- establish policies for the efficient and effective use of school assets and management of financial risk
- develop relationships between the school and the community and between the school and community organisations
- make recommendations to the Chief Executive on issues affecting the school and to give effect to the Chief Executive's directions
- encourage parent participation in their children's learning, and
- exercise any other function given to the school board under the Act or any other Territory law
