Enrolments | Preschool

Preschool is provided for all four year old children in the year before they attend school. Children must turn four by the 30th April to be eligible to attend.

ACT public schools are non-selective. Hughes Primary School administers all enrolments for Hughes Preschool. Enrolment priority is given to children living in our Priority Enrolment Area (PEA). If our school has the capacity after accepting students from our PEA, we may offer enrolment to students who live outside our PEA. Many parents have made Hughes Primary their school of choice.

When lodging your enrolment form, office staff will need to sight official documentation showing your child's:

Parents/carers are welcome to apply to enrol/transfer their child at any time using the online enrolment/transfer form . Once submitted, forms cannot be altered. If you have made an error you will need to submit another form. If more than one form is submitted any previously submitted forms will be made invalid.

Applications for enrolment will open in Term 2 of each school year for preschool that will commence school next year.

All new students on enrolment must show proof of their residency status.

All temporary residents must produce the Visa on which they have been granted entry to Australia. Permission to enrol temporary residents is determined by the Department of Education's International Education Unit and in some cases tuition fees are required.
