Play Based Learning
The early childhood educators at Hughes Preschool provide a play-based learning environment with a focus on the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of the individual student. In the preschool year, the development of literacy and numeracy skills and concepts occurs through play-based experiences. Educators establish respectful, caring relationships with families, and work to construct the curriculum and learning experiences relevant to children in their local context.
Teaching and learning at the preschool is informed by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF): Belonging, Being and Becoming - The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia
